We kept the natural original pitch pine floor and all the simple Georgian character and integrity of this wonderful building, and then added luxurious touches such as a super king vi-sprung bed covered in frette linen, there’s a flat screen T.V and an i-dock, a shower-room nearly the size of Belgium, and a few little extra’s on us.We have used local trades for their knowledge and experience and traditional materials from the area and era, keeping Lakeland and those that love it sustainably employed. Martindale is Chrissy’s family name originating in Mardale although ultimately for hundreds of years the family was from Windermere…the old pictures are of Chrissy's christening in Grasmere and her Mum, Joan making Grasmere Rushbearing Gingerbread, still served at "The Jumble Room" today…Martindales from Windermere
